Learning About Old Mystery TV Shows

By Christa Jarvis

Human beings living in the 70's and 80's had the opportunity to watch the best programs that were readily available. The old mystery tv shows were always entertaining and many of them were often featured during the night hours. "Miss Marple, " "The X-Files, " "Josie And The Pussycats, " "Scooby-Doo, " "Unsolved Mysteries" and many more were viewed by the average American person.

The fabulous older woman named Miss Marple could always be seen on certain PBS stations across America. This is a character which was created by the late great Agatha Christie. Joan Hickson was one good actress who portrayed this icon for many years.

When Ms. Hickson passed away her role was handed over to another woman who was a few years younger. The younger actress could not really play the part as well as Joan. Even though this change was made the series went on for a bit of time and the viewers still watched. Miss Marple was always lucky to have the chief inspector helping her out with crime cases.

"Unsolved Mysteries" really focused on true life crime stories which happened across the globe. Sometimes these cases were national and on other occasions they were international. The police were able to obtain many of the murderers and rapists because of this television show. An actor named Robert Stack hosted the series for its entire run.

A large canine called "Scooby-Doo" was very popular during the late 60's and early 70's. He was a likable mutt who always seemed to be afraid of his very own shadow. His owner was a groovy tall guy named Shaggy and he was just as greedy as Scooby. Boys all around the globe enjoyed looking at the very lovely woman named Daphne who was also featured on the program. Women who were watching this series were thrilled to see the handsome cartoon character called Fred.

On the other hand "Josie And The Pussycats" were always in danger since the villains on this particular show wanted them dead. Each episode would feature a new hit song from this talented musical group. This extraordinary show was only on for a short period of time but it quickly became a cult classic. Alexandra became a key player on the program even though Josie was the star. Individuals watching also became familiar with Alex, Alan, Valerie and the always ditzy Melody.

People who liked to be scared easily would find themselves watching a program called "The X-Files." Many supernatural events happened within the show each and every week. On one episode a woman was married to a demonic male who could change his form at any time.

This became an instant hit television show for FOX which is located in the United States. People even became more interested in paranormal events after the series became successful. The two lead actors on this event were truly opposites since the male was addicted to pornography. The female character was more serious about certain issues.
