Keep in mind what I said at the beginning if you are not experienced and you are just starting your blog this will not be a viable option for you. Reason being these companies are looking for established sites with significant consistent traffic to get exposure to their ads.

The downside of this is that you will need to approach these companies and solicit their business. This is not something you take on if you have a new site that is not yet established. They prefer seasoned sites that are popular and have a significant amount of visitors on a daily basis. Most will not select this option as it could involve a lot of effort in finding companies to advertise with you and most do not handle rejection well.

The last option which is the one I currently use is to promote your own opportunity or products if you have some. This is without a doubt the most straightforward approach for a beginner as all it requires is blogging in whatever your niche happens to be. There are some tailor made opportunities out there for just this type of option. You can get a blog set up for you with all the monetization already in place which makes this a very practical approach.

No matter what option you choose, there is a potential to make a good income through your blog. It will be a lot of work, and remember that the wealth wouldn't come over night.
