Tips On How To Write A Novel

By Andrew Richardson

Writing a book is not an easy thing. Writers need to be committed, passionate, and creative to successfully make a novel. Good novels often show a great reality and allow readers to find the truth in the world that is fabricated. So, regardless of what type of novels you will be writing, either romance or horror, you need to have a boundless creativity in making your outline, revise, and edit them as much as possible.

If writing is a hobby you want, then you can make that passion into a profitable one. It is a perfect idea to make and sell your books especially if you have captured the interest of your audience. If you are planning to make that possible, then be sure to write a story for your readers. But before that, you have to make sure to obtain an idea on how to write a novel successfully.

Carry a notepad and pencil so you can jot down your ideas wherever you go. You get inspired by something you see and hear on your work, while walking in the park, or even if you are daydreaming. The truth is, you will never know when an idea comes out. Being a writer needs you to get inspired all the time. In fact, some writers find it very hard to create an idea. The only solution for that is inspiration.

Next is to consider the genre you love most. Actually, not every story suits into a specific category, but think about your audience and your genre as you begin planning the draft. Read major works that fall into your selected genre and understand everything including the proper construction of the stories and the standards of your selected genre.

Once you decide to which genre to write within, plan about the setting of your story. You should not focus to only one setting only and start dreaming big. The setting you are thinking will actually identify the mode and tone of the story which could affect the problems that your characters encounter. You also need to think about questions as you outline the book.

Novels would never be completed without creating the characters. Therefore, make your characters effectively. The protagonist is one of the characters that will make the story beautiful. Thus, make it interesting. Ideally, protagonists do not have to liken, but should drive the interest of your readers.

Actually, visualizing your plot should be the next step to think about. Novels regardless of their genres have some sort of disputes and conflicts. Problem and tensions are present to the climax of the story but can be resolved in any way. Actually, a novel does not have to end a happily ever after lie fairy tales. It is like giving a motivation for the characters to add a meaning of the book.

To create a great outline, it is better to read different books specifically ones relevant to the genre you write. This is important during and after you have made the book. Always remember that characters with similar and different traits must be compared with each other.

When writing a book, writers need to be insensitive when it comes to feedback. If readers give you comments or feedback to change something, then consider it, but never change the story automatically. Be sure it is something you want to change for the betterment of your book. Also, keep in mind that because a person dislike it does not mean everyone else will.
