You never need to follow them all, but it will give you a chance to get some ideas that would be useful to your own. Always welcome the opinion of others and do not be close minded individual. Otherwise, nothing will happens to you because you fear of innovation.

Committing some errors are okay. Just make sure it will not happen again. This will widens your information and you could distinguish the things that are right and what works best or not.
